Dinagyang Festival 2010 Schedule of Activities

The Ilonggo's will once again celebrate the Dinagyang Festival. It is a thanksgiving and a celebration in honor of Sr. Santo Nino. The cultural festival is held every last weekend of January.

But the Ilonggo's are preparing for this big event as early as now so here's the Schedule of Activities for the Dinagyang 2010.

A lot of Boys Over Flowers fans were screaming to death when Kim Bum arrived from Korea. He is one of Korea's heart-throbs and appeared in Boys Over Flowers (So Yi Jung) which is a big hit here in the Philippies. She was out in the open to distribute relief goods. The golden, scorching heat of the sun touched her beautiful, creamy, white skin. Her cheeks turned red with heat. We knew it well that she does not expose herself to the sun rays. Blame it to her type of job. It was a surprise to see her doing service to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. People admired her for that. Yes, she talks a lot but she do much, much action while talking. She's lovable. Although she belongs to the elite, she could easily stoop-down to the level of the people of the lower strata. Keep it up Kris Aquino, we shall love you more for that. To the volunteers who also gave their helping hands to typhoon Ondoy victims, Gob Bless You All.

Christmas Benefits At October

Immediately after the flashflood brought by Typhoon Ondoy, President Gloria Arroyo ordered Government offices for earlier release of Christmas benefits of government employees. She stressed further that she will confer with the employers of the private companies to do the same with their employee to ease the pain of those who were affected with the flood.

Christmas benefits shall include the 13th month pay, the 14th month pay (depending on the discretion of the employers) cash gifts, while others release Christmas bonus aside from those mentioned above. Aside from the early Christmas benefits, all qualified employees can avail of GSIS, SSS, Pag-ibig calamity loans of P 20,000. Monthly payments will start five months after the release of said loans. That is quiet consoling on the part of our people. So hurry, avail now.

Pinoy Celebrities on Typhoon Ondoy

Some Pinoy famous celebrities cried for help while other serve as a hero during the downpour of Typhoon Ondoy (international named "Ketsana") last Saturday in major areas in Metro Manila, Rizal Province, Quezon City, Pasig City and Marikina City.

Eva Fonda Star Cristine Reyes is trapped for almost 12 hours on the roof of her house in Provident Village, Marikina City. Her area is greatly affected of the flood . In telephone interview in news reports, Cristine Reyes tearfully asked to rescue them. She was with her mother,five year old and three year old niece/nephew, her sister,personal assistant ,driver and some of her neighbors. Cristine was thankful that she was rescued by her friend Richard Gutierrez, also known as Zorro and Captain Barbell of Philippine Television. Both of them had a upcoming film Patient X soon will be showing in theaters.

Gerald Anderson, also known as Tiagong Akyat or David Garcia or JR, served as a "hero" in his village. He jumped in flood waters, despite the danger, to help his neighbors that might be trapped in their homes in Quezon City.

In the Buzz, last Sunday, it was also reported that K Brosas with her children, Jean Garcia and daughter her Jennica ,Carmina Villaroel with her family , Ogie Diaz Also also with his family were also trapped in their homes as flood waters began to rise. But they were rescued several hours later. Chocolait, a Star Magic comedian, is also stranded. Jason Gainza, Tito Bhoy of NNNN, was cannot be contact that Sunday. His family was also affected by the typhoon.

Couples Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo help their friend Gladys Reyes, husband Christopher Roxas and their children in Vista Verde who were also trapped in flood. When Gladys texted Judy Ann for help, she immediately come to the rescue.

Jericho Rosales and Raymart Santiago rescue their neighbors Loyola Grand Villas, Marikina by using their surf board. Star magic celebrity Claudine Barreto also managed to help.

My Unforgettable Ondoy

Your visit was not expected, that's why we were not prepared. Not even the local on the national government. Your stay was brief, yet it brought a lot of damages. You took a hundred precious lives. Not only in Rizal Province but also from Marikina, Pasig and Quezon Cities. Thousands of residents evacuated. Flood water was terribly high, it reached the rooftop. Our hearts ached a lot looking at those dead bodies being retrieved by the rescue teams. Other are still nowhere to be found. How much more with those kids who were helplessly separated from their parents by the strong current of the flood. Our hearts torn-apart looking at the new-born infants, one week old and one day old who died of severe coldness. Their parents tried to shelter them even at the rooftop but to no avail. Rescue was too slow. There are no enough rubber boats. There's no food around. Water is everywhere but not a drop to drink. Some were rescued after a day, others after two days while the rest are starving already on their third day.

It was a good thing our concerned brothers and sisters worked hand in hand to raise funds and relief goods to be given to the flood victims. The US communities also send their cash aid and more rubber boats.

So, Ondoy, you are remarkably unforgettable. How can a single family forget your devastating effect if they lost one, two or three members?

As you leave our country, you left countless Filipinos homeless while others lose their properties.This is a lesson learned, as there are two tropical depression coming in. An eye opener, we must pray more.

Politics are getting hot, it now changed the flow of life of our political aspirants. Take the case of Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson, he has been craving to join the Presidential race, then all of sudden, he won't anymore for some special secrets reasons. And here he is now, getting busy in firing-out explosives. A big bang here and there breaking away the silence of Ex-President Joseph "Erap" Estrada. On the other hand, Earp keep his stand regarding his desire to run for President for the 2010 elections. He has been repeating his favorite line, "No one and nothing could ever stop me from running for President."

How about now that the former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief and close friend "Ping" Lacson had leaked all what he know about the Dacer-Korbito double murder case? Without hesitation, Lacson is pinpointing Erap Estrada as the mastermind of the crime. Will it curve the way of Earp for a sure victory come May 2010? How will it affect his image? He has been leading on surveys, recently. The bomb exploded on a privilege speech of Senator Lacson last Wednesday, September 16,2009. He has more to divulge next week, according to him.

Then, another explosive blasted out in the person of Glenn Dumlao, giving support to the revelations of "Ping" Lacson. He told the media that orders are coming from President Estrada directly to the performing men for Operation Delta. It did not pass thru the PNP Chief who was then not in speaking terms with President Estrada. The appearance of Mr. Alfonso Yuchengco added to the gloomy days of Estrada confirming that he was really pressured by Erap men to sell his shares of stock with PLDT to Manny Pangilinan. Estrada today is filing a libel case against Yuchengco.

How credible is Senator Lacson divulging all those things against Erap. The jueteng drama, the smuggled rice and other revelations, are they enough to prevent Erap from running for the highest position in the government service? What led "Ping" to unfold those mysteries? Why did it took him so long?

However, when Cesar Mancao was asked to comment on the Erap-Lacson battle, he simply said ,"They are all the same." Who tells the truth, then. Well better wait and see.

Blood War : Aquino vs Teodoro

It was announced last September 15 that the standard bearer of the Administration under Lakas-Kampi_CMD who is no other than the bar topnother and good-looking Secretary of National Defense Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro,Jr. He unanimously won over his opponent MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando. Selections was done by the National Executive Committee thru a secret balloting after a series of questions answered by both the Presidential aspirants. Each also gave their short speech to vouch themselves before the question and answer portions. The process was done in such a way that the National Executive Committee won't find it hard to choose the right one. Quiet close to a beauty contest huh. It was very obvious because Gibo Teodoro answered the questions smartly and with substance. Bayani tried well only that he did not hit the questions.He just when around the bush.

So, the game of luck is now starting between the 2nd counsins, Noynoy Aquino and Gibo Teodoro. Family of politicians, eh. May the best candidate win. Anyway, both have good track records in politics.

Ambition or Caprice?

A lot of concerned citizens were amazed about the statements of Sharon Cuneta as follows : "There's no sacrifice because I have no ambition, Hindi naman ambisyoso si Kiko eh". As if she is insinuating something. She was not expected to say those words. Indeed, she is not supposed to dream of becoming the wife of a Vice-President or President because Senator Francisco "Kiko" Pangilinan is not yet ready. If she thinks that getting into Presidential racetrack is only for the sake of ambition, she is mistaken. For her, maybe it is only a caprice rather than a commitment.

On the part of Senator Mar Roxas, aiming for the top position before is a quest, a mission. He is in the position to aim for that coveted position thinking that he was the number one elected senator during the last election. Korina Sanchez is just behind him and does not consider it an ambition.

It is good thing that Atty. Kiko Pangilinan is no longer the personal spokesperson of Noynoy. There might be an overlapping of function. Somebody from the Liberal Party is in charge of it already.

Noynoy Aquino is somewhat confused. For a credible person like him, there's no reason to panic. Just do it cool. He should keep away from the shadow of his parents. If only he could give a speech without mentioning their names. He has to establish his own identity.

Kim HyunJoong of Boys Over Flowers caught H1N1 Flu Virus

Kim Hyun Joong, singer and leader of Korean's popular boyband SS501 has been diagnosed with H1N1 flu virus. He went to Yokohama, Japan last September 5 and 6 to promote his show in KBS 2TV "Boys Over Flowers" . He is currently hospitalized in Tokyo, Japan.

Kim debuted as leader of SS501 in 2005. He also participated in two reality shows Thank You For Waking Us Up (2005) and Thank You For Raising Us (2006). He was more popular here in the Philippines as Yoon Ji Hoo in Boys Over flowers.

Last July 13, Kim's boyband SS501 had been appointed as Ambassadors of Korean Airport Corporation (KAC). KAC explained that “SS501 is a rising Hallyu Star and their image is in line with Kimpo airport’s image which is to become the pivot airport for Northeastern Asia, which is why they were appointed as our ambassador.”

There are five of the Aquino siblings. Born to the great Ninoy-Cory Aquino are four beautiful ladies namely,Maria Elena "Ballsy" A. Cruz, Aurora Corazon "Pinky" A. Abellada, Victoria Eliza "Viel" A. Dee,and Kristina Bernadette "Kris" C. Aquino-Yap and one gentleman and that is Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III. He's the only son and the only single among them. Since Noynoy declared to run for President, the burden that goes with it is heavy. What they're planning to do now is to divide the responsibility among them four. Kris, the youngest committed to work and work harder in order to earn more. The three others will offer their services. The Liberal Party are lauching the "Piso para kay Noynoy Campaign" nationwide, too. In the provinces, concerned citizens have placed jars in certain places where anybody can share their peso.

Kris asked Atty. Kiko Pangilinan if he's willing to act as spokesman of Noynoy. Kiko and Sharon Cuneta answered back with big YES. How about the spokesman of the Liberal Party. What will be his role now? Ah, there must be some duplication of functions.

The Vice Presidency was already offered by Noynoy to Senator Mar Roxas or "Mr. Palengke" or "Mr. Padyak" .It was a big YES again for an answer. It was only late last night that the news broke in. So, my dear countrymen, we're going to have two bachelors with their respective beautiful ladies on the limelight. Two top position of the land for two unstained candidates.

Noynoy Aquino, The Presidentiable

Early in the morning of September 9, 2009, Noynoy Aquino formally announced his decision to run for the 2010 Elections. He said, "My country, the Philippines, I accept the challenge to lead my people, according to their will, I'm going to run for the 2010 elections for Presidency." He was supported by his four (4) sisters and brother-in-law, the President of the Liberal Party, no less than Senator Mar Roxas, officers and members of the Liberal Party like Senator Biazon, Senator Franklin Drilon, Senator Kiko Pangilinan and so many others. But to top it all, the apple of Noynoy's eye, Shalani Soledad was also present. The good news was declared at the 40th day of president Cory Aquino's death in Kalayaan Hall, Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan. The program started with a dramatic "Kapit Bisig" entrance of Noynoy, singing of the Philippine National Anthem and an opening prayer. His running mate is still unknown.

Since everything is all set, we just hope there will be no unnecessary remarks that will come out in open especially from Kris Aquino saying this and that. The Movies and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for the first time have its MTRCB TV Awards last Friday, September 4,2009 at Gateway Cinema 5 in Quezon City. World Cup Pool 2009 Winners : Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante

For the second time around , The Magician Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante of the Philippines won the World Cup of Pool Championship 2009 last Sunday, September 6, 2009 in SM North Edsa Activity Center.They won with the score of 11-9 in the 11-match against the German duo Ralph Souquet and Thortsten Hohmann. They won the top prize of $60,000.

Last 2006, Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante also represented Team Philippines in World Cup of Pool where they defeated Team USA, formed by Earl Strickland and Rodney Morris. They won this inaugural tournament.

Goodbye, Ka Erdy

We are celebrating today the National Day of Mourning to give honor to the interment of Ka Erdy Manalo, Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo. He was temporarily laid on a tabernacle just near the Iglesia ni Cristo Templo Central at the Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. Thousands of followers and members of Iglesia ni Cristo witnessed the solemn ceremony. Very Important Persons including President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo graced the occasion.

Eraño "Ka Erdy" Manalo died of cardio pulmonary arrest at the age of 84 in the afternoon of August 31,2009 (3:53 pm). Eduardo Manalo, Deputy Minister and son of the late "Ka Erdy" is expected to take over the lead of the Iglesia ni Cristo.

Sea Tragedy Kill 9

The SuperFerry 9, one of the passenger vessels of the Aboitiz Transport System Corporation sank at exactly 8:20 a.m. at Banga Point near Zamboanga del Norte last September 6,2009. On board are 847 passengers including 117 crews and 4 sea marshalls. The incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. when a big noise was heard at the cargo compartment of the vessel as if the cargoes are falling apart.

Passengers with mobile phones were able to contact their kins. They have their life jackets on already. That time the ship had slided towards the right portion at 30 degrees. The ship captain has commanded the abandonment of the ship at 4:40 a.m. The Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force and the Philippines Coast Guard were among the first rescuers to come. Other private vessels also took part in the rescue. The search and rescue operations are still going on with only two passengers left missing. Nine were dead. Three were initially identified as James Calero, 2; Carina Ampere, 23; Fernando Estrada, 45; 3 unidentified males and 3 unidentified females.Leaving much trauma to the rescued ones who expected much for fun, pleasure and excitement to such a sea voyage. The shippine company will provide P50,000 cash assistance for the survivors and P200,000 for each dead passenger.

Thirty-two teams will be competing represented by 31 nations. Each of them will have a chance to win the top prize of $60,000.

On the contrary, Chavit defended himself and told the media, they're not totally separated. He showed some evidences, letters from Che asking for financial support. He believes to have axis over her. Despite of that, she continues to flirt with other guys, one of whom is Cogie Domingo. Atty. Domingo, father of Cogie denied the allegation. He said, Cogie is now peacefully living in the United States.

Rachel Tiongson who is a native of General Santos City came in Manila to study in College. At the age of 19, she met Chavit Singson. According to her, the ex-governor of Ilocos formally courted her. He was generous and lovable that time, that is why falling in love with him is not impossible.

Manny Pacquiao Starts His Training for Miguel Cotto Match This November

Manny Pacquiao will start his training to prepare his match this November 14, 2009 in MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. His opponent,Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico already starts his training one month ago. Pacquiao said he usually had 8 weeks-training, not more, not less before the competition.

“Kasi ‘pag lumampas ng eight weeks iyong training ko, medyo ma-over train ako, hindi maganda kondisyon ko sa fight. ‘Pag bumababa ng sa eight weeks masama naman ang kondisyon ko,” said Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao also said that he will fly to New York, United States this September 9 for the four-city press tour of his fight. After the tour, Manny will return to Philippines to begin his high altitude training in Baguio City. For his final training site, he said that he will still have to settle this with his coach Freddie Roach. After that they will proceed to Las Vegas for the November 14 fight.

Coach Freddie Roach said that Manny Pacquiao fight against with Cotto should not be taken lightly. They expect the Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto to be in his best condition.

"Anyone who thinks this fight is easy is a fool. He's going to be at his best," said Freddie Roach.“I've been studying this guy, watching his fights, I have a good strategy in mind and we just have to implement it now,” he added.

Senator Mar Roxas finally gave his decision of giving way for the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino for Presidency from a press conference held at Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, yesterday September 1,2009. In as much as he has already started his silent campaign, his telecommercial being aired on television, his "padyak" version being sensationalized, he still chose to set aside those for a simple reason of unity. As far as we know, Senator Mar Roxas showed his interest in running as early as last year. It is a clear picture of starting to spend for all advertisements early this year. For him, its the interest of the Filipino citizenry that counts first before anything else. Mar Roxas and Noynoy Aquino together with the whole Liberal Party have been in dialogue since last week. It is only yesterday at around 6:30 pm that the final decision was announced.

Meanwhile, it was not yet ironed as to who will be the running mate of Aquino for Vice-Presidency. Roxas has not committed for any position with the Liberal Party.

Many spectators were surprised and were in sad thought. Others, even shed tears but as Mar Roxas said, "I love my country and it needs a change. People clamor for Noynoy Aquino to go on with the journey of his parents. I'll be beside him for a support."

Mar Roxas earned a lot of praises from different sectors of our society for his noble deed.

Yup, its a big revelation. As Willie enjoyed his long vacation, he has come to an idea of buying an airplane in addition to his collections of 2 yachts, 11 cars , 4 houses and 1 building for commercial purposes. He added that the two boys of Kris Aquino namely Joshua and Baby James are the two special ones to board that plane for a trip to Hongkong much more Disneyland if the plan pushed thru.

It only shows that whether Willie Revillame will be back as host of Wowowie or not, he has still those hidden wealth capable of acquiring the luxury that he wants. It is really a pleasure to acquire all the best things money can buy.

But sad to say that televiewers especially the TFC (The Filipino Channel)subscribers will miss the charms of Willie Revillame until September 20,2009. The dance segment of Luningning and Saicy has to be scraped-off from Wowowie in consonance with rules and regulations of MTRCB. ABS-CBN has to keep good values and morality of the show.

As of today, Senator Noynoy has not decided yet whether to accept the challenge of the Filipino people, to run for the Presidency or just content himself for the Vice Presidency Post.

In Iloilo City, there's a group to be campaigning for signatures to commence September 2,2009. The result will be forwarded to Manila for consolidation.

The Aquino siblings are still deliberating for best decisions. Kris Aquino, the youngest, was not allowed to participate in the deliberation. The doors are closed for her to avoid squealing things before they are finally carried. We all knew Kris to be very outspoken and never hides factual information.

Other groups said that if Noynoy runs for the top post because of a legacy left by his parents, he should sort things out wisely. The Mar Roxas-Noynoy Aquino tandem shall be reversed. Mar Roxas also expressed his support for Noynoy and is willing to give-way for the reluctant candidate.
