Winners of the 1st MTRCB Awards



The Movies and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for the first time have its MTRCB TV Awards last Friday, September 4,2009 at Gateway Cinema 5 in Quezon City. Chairperson Consoliza Laguardia hope that through this awards night, the television networks will come up with shows and programs that are not just entertaining but with values as well.






Here are the winners of the 1st MTRCB Awards



Best News Program - Balitanghali (QTV 11)

Best Public Affairs Show - I-Witness (GMA-7)

Best Education Show - Sineskwela (ABS-CBN)

Best Children's Show - Mustard TV (TV5)

Best Reality Show - I Survived (ABS-CBN)

Best Talent Show - Talentadong Pinoy (TV5)

Best Comedy Show - Wow Mali (TV5)

Best Drama Special - Obra (Butch episode) (GMA-7)

Best Teleserye - Kahit Isang Saglit (ABS-CBN)


For the Individual Awards:

Best Actor - Michael V (Bubble Gang, GMA-7)

Best Actress - Bea Alonzo (I Love Betty La Fea, ABS-CBN)

Best Male Host - Edu Manzano (Pilipinas GKNB? ABS-CBN)


Best Female Host - Jessica Soho (Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, GMA-7)


Special Awards:

Recognition Award for Promoting Nation Building - "Power to Unite" (GMA-7)

Special Award for Promoting Education - Y Speak (Studio 23)

Special Award for Promoting Environmental Protection - Born to be Wild (GMA-7)

Special Award for Promoting Family Values and Solidarity - Moments (Net 25)

Special Award for Promoting Moral Values - May Bukas Pa (ABS-CBN)




Male Star of the Night - Ryan Agoncillo

Female Star of the Night - Isabel Oli


MTRCB Metro Manila Students Screenplay Award - Pasyon by Patrick John Valencia of the University of Santo Tomas

Lifetime Achievement Award - Ms. Gloria Romero
