Immediately after the flashflood brought by Typhoon Ondoy, President Gloria Arroyo ordered Government offices for earlier release of Christmas benefits of government employees. She stressed further that she will confer with the employers of the private companies to do the same with their employee to ease the pain of those who were affected with the flood.

Christmas benefits shall include the 13th month pay, the 14th month pay (depending on the discretion of the employers) cash gifts, while others release Christmas bonus aside from those mentioned above. Aside from the early Christmas benefits, all qualified employees can avail of GSIS, SSS, Pag-ibig calamity loans of P 20,000. Monthly payments will start five months after the release of said loans.
