Senator Mar Roxas finally gave his decision of giving way for the candidacy of Noynoy Aquino for Presidency from a press conference held at Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, yesterday September 1,2009. In as much as he has already started his silent campaign, his telecommercial being aired on television, his "padyak" version being sensationalized, he still chose to set aside those for a simple reason of unity. As far as we know, Senator Mar Roxas showed his interest in running as early as last year. It is a clear picture of starting to spend for all advertisements early this year. For him, its the interest of the Filipino citizenry that counts first before anything else. Mar Roxas and Noynoy Aquino together with the whole Liberal Party have been in dialogue since last week. It is only yesterday at around 6:30 pm that the final decision was announced.
Meanwhile, it was not yet ironed as to who will be the running mate of Aquino for Vice-Presidency. Roxas has not committed for any position with the Liberal Party.
Many spectators were surprised and were in sad thought. Others, even shed tears but as Mar Roxas said, "I love my country and it needs a change. People clamor for Noynoy Aquino to go on with the journey of his parents. I'll be beside him for a support."
Mar Roxas earned a lot of praises from different sectors of our society for his noble deed.
