The peak of summer is killing us, we could hardly bear the scorching heat of the sun. In Manila Bay, children ignore the tons and tons of garbage floating along the sea, they enjoy swimming to the dirty waters of the bay even though it is prohibited. Our commercial beaches and inland resorts are somewhat expensive, so that the seasides are the best alternatives. They still enjoy the fun of floating into the sea together with the waste.
In Iloilo, there are more to see along the seashore. The “Hulamahan sa Balas” is a contest among people with artistic imagination who could mould their creation using the sand. This is done every year, we are now in the 16th year of showcasing beautiful creations out of the sand. Tourists are amazed about Iloilo talents, how they could come-up to their artistic figures. They enjoy the thrills of this outdoor activity at the same time take the chances of earning monetary prizes.
Another adventure to happen before the end of summer is the “Paraw Regatta” along Iloilo coastline. It is a contest for the best bancas. The best banca must be speedy, artistically decorated and the first to reach the finish line.
